CABALES FAMILY TREES
(Revised as of 30 July 2004)
INTRODUCTION:
There are several CABALES FAMILY TREES that have so far been identified. Some of these Family Trees however, can not yet be interconnected with each other due to the lack of information. Hence, interrelations between some people may still be difficult to trace. I believe though, that with the constant pouring in of additional information, we can have a clearer view of the Cabales Clan as a whole.
The Family Trees that will be presented here are in narrative form. In some instances where there are more details, some family trees will be further subdivided and will be presented only in three or four generations. However, its sub branches will also be presented, as may be necessary, in subsequent pages to complete the over all narrative of that specific Family Tree.
For example:
a. The data on the Family Tree of PIO CABALES AND MARIA CONANAN is so abundant that presenting his whole family tree in one setting will become so complex and will be difficult to understand. Hence, for purposes of simplicity, some of his grandchildren will be treated as other Family Trees.
b. Following this format, we will also present the Family Tree of SAQUEO CABALES (grandson of Pio).
The system may be repetitious but it will make finding ones own roots easier. To assist the user, we will provide an index at the end where you will be guided as to which page you will find names of people you would like to know more about.
This task is a tedious one so I will ask everyone to help in its construction by adding more data or making corrections of the ones presented.

Family Tree of PIO CABALES
PIO married MARIA CONANAN who was believed to be a daughter of a French conscript in the Spanish Army.
(note: Pio had a brother called Kipot - not his real name. he got this name because of his cropped ears. he was never married and had no children.)
PIO and MARIA had 1 daughter and 4 sons born in the following order:
1. Salvacion Cabales Gonzales - the eldest and the only girl in the family. died early but had 3 children born in the following order:
1) Consuelo Gnzales Perucho
2) Isidro Cabales, Sr. carried Cabales as his family name although his father was a Gonzales, had 5 known wives and had 7 identified children. (Family Tree of Isidro Cabales Sr is on page 16)
3) Pura married to Carding de los Santos. had one daughter named Marissa who married a Masangkay
2. Tomas Cabales -he married Priscilla Miralles Magallanes of Ondoy, Ibajay. their 7 children were as follows:
a. Eduardo/Toto - (deceased) worked in PAL after the war together with Uncles Montano Cabales and Anselmo Cabales, worked in Guam but got sick (believed to be TB) so he returned home. died young in Ibajay as a bachelor.
b. Saqueo/Nonoy - born on aug 27, 1927, he joined his Uncles Buno/Bonoy and Bernabe/Abe (both younger brothers of his father, Tomas) in San Carlos City, Neg. Occ in 1949. (A separate Family Tree of Saqueo Cabales is on page 18)
c. Elena Cabales Gatarin - married to Innocencio Gatarin (deceased). still lives in Ibajay, Aklan. they had 2 sons and a daughter as follows:

f. Socorro Cabales Garcia - married to Hannibal Garcia, a retired Senior Inspector of the BJMP. Socorro studied, worked and retired as a public school teacher in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. her husband, who was also from Ibajay, also worked and retired in San Carlos City. they moved to Ibajay in Dec 2001 after their retirement. they had 2 sons and a daughter as follows:
1) Kenneth Cabales Garcia - a Sr Engr at AMKOR Technology Phils. He lives in Millwoodville Subdivision, Cabuyao, Laguna with wife liza, daughter Kayla and son GM.

g. Tomas, Jr - a bachelor living in Ibajay.
3. GUILLERMO/MEMONG - left for Manila before the war and got married there, settled in Barcelona, Tondo, Manila near the port area. died in 1946 and his widow, Piñeng married another Cabales by the name of Naring/Genaro who was from Bagacay, Ibajay. (from the lineage of Simplicio) TheY had the following children (not in the order of birth):

note: Piñeng, the widow of Memong married Genaro/Naring Cabales from Bagacay and they had 3 daughters namely: Nenita, Esther and Celia.
4. BRUNO CABALES - joined the postal service and was assigned to San Carlos City before the war as Postmaster. He married Santiaga Rivera and they had 3 sons and 7 daughters, all born and raised in San Carlos City, Neg. Occ. The whole family relocated to Iligan City, Lanao del Norte in 1951-52. the children are as follows:
a. Vesitacion C. Abetria born on Jan 9, 1922 and had 10 children, 2 sons are working abroad - 1 in Hong Kong and the other, a merchant marine officer; one daughter had 14 children all in Oslob, Cebu. One of her grandchildren is Fr Raul Abetria.
b. Bienvenida/Bening Garganera - Born on Dec 1, 1923 and married Bonifacio Gaganera, Sr (deceased), lives in San Carlos. She had 4 sons & a daughter. in the following order of birth:
1) Luzvisminda/Bebe Cabales Pinili - married to Adolfo Pinili, a retired seaman and had 1 son.
2) Edwin - was an army soldier assigned with the Scout Rangers but was killed in line of duty.
3) Aram/Bonjie - married to Lorna Bersamin from Iligan City.
4) Athos/Bembe - A former PA soldier assigned with the Scout Rangers, married to Charito Talidong of Brgy Quezon, San Carlos City, had 3 sons and now lives in roxas city.

c. Leonardo/Narding - born on July 30, 1925, retired from the US Navy, now residing in Basak, Pardo, Cebu City with wife Lourdes. They have an only Darlene Cabales Yu (US born) & one grand daughter, also living in Cebu City.
d. Constantina/Nene Cabales Colina - born Feb 16, 1928 and now lives in West Covina, CA. USA with her daughter Carmen Serrano; She has a son in Panabo, Davao City; another son in Marawi City and 3 daughters in Cebu City.
e. Edmundo/Eddie - born on Aug 11, 1930, USN retired; married to Alice Legaspi Sangalang in Davao City on March 11, 1957. now resides in San Diego, CA had 4 children:
1) Rosa Maria Cabales Pagala - born in Davao City in Dec '59. works as a Senior Probation Officer of the County of San Diego, separated from husband of 16 years lives alone in San Diego. has a son who is16 yrs old in the honor roll and a member of the school varsity track team.
2) Marie Ann Cabales Donn - born on Mar 31, 1961 married a Vietnamese and lives in San Diego. has 2 sons names Nicholas and Dylan
3) Marie Lynn Cabales Hewitt - born on Feb 18, 1962 also lives in San Diego. haS 2 daughters named Katherine and Emily.
4) Raymund - born on dec 20, 1963 an Aerospace Engineer and married an American. has a son named Austin
f. Angelina/Ebeth - born on Sept 14, 1932, unwed mother of 1 residing in Iligan City.
g. Exultacion/Babe or Sally Cabales Cuarenta - born on Sept 14, 1935 (died March 1, 1998), married to Francasio Piamonte Cuarenta, a retired US Navy man, lived in Carson, California before she died. had 5 children:

Siegfredo/Boy, Fred, Freddie - born on Feb 17, 1937 USN retired, resident of Jacksosnville, FL; married to Epifania/Fannie, a retired nurse from Oslob, Cebu; 3 children Cynthia/Cindy (BSN), born Feb 29, 1964, works & lives in Baltimore, MD.; Bernard/Bernie (born on Nov 1, 1965 but died on Jan 29, 1980 of muscular dystrophy), Lou/Noel born on Dec 13, 1966- (once a chef) free lance photographer in LA.
i. Glafera/Fering Cabales Godinez - born on Aug 3, 1938 and had 2 children, residing in Impasugong, Bukidnon. her husband is a retired PC/INP.
j. Proserpina/Prose - born on Dec 11, 1940 and a 3rd order Franciscan, lives in West Covina, CA.
4. BERNABE CABALES - the youngest son of Pio Cabales and Maria Conanan. As an adventurer, he traveled to the US and Europe as a crew of an overseas ship before finally settling down in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental joining his older brother Bruno who was designated as the Postmaster there. He married MARTHA BATONGMALAQUE DULCE but had no children (Martha was the elder sister of Petronila who became the wife of Saqueo/Nonoy, his nephew and son of his older brother Tomas.)
FAMILY TREE OF ISIDRO CABALES SR
Isidro Sr is the son of Salvacion, the eldest and the only daughter of Pio Cabales and Maria Conanan. Isidro has 2 sisters: Consuelo Gonzales Perucho and Pura Gonzales de los Santos. Although his father was a Gonzales, he used Cabales as his family name having been in the care of Tomas Cabales (brother of his mother) when he was orphaned early. he had 5 known wives and had the following identified children:

3. Maybeline Cabales Ramos - daughter of Rosing. A separated mother of 2 sons and a daughter, lives in Apalit, Pampanga.

5. Isidro, Jr/Edd - 44 yrs old raised in Malay, Aklan. mother was Pacifica/Pacing Sinel Sim (4th known wife) a public school teacher. Married to Grace Domingo Gaffud a nurse and from Ft Bonifacio. now lives in Miami, Florida. has the following children:

FAMILY TREE OF SAQUEO/NONOY CABALES
Saqueo was the 2nd son of Tomas Conanan Cabales and Priscilla Miralles Magallanes his brothers and sisters are the following (in the order of birth): Eduardo/Toto, Elena, Wilfredo, Oliva, Socorro and Tomas, Jr. He studied engineering in Kalibo for 1 year but had to stop because of the sickness of his older brother Toto/Eduardo who was the one spending for his studies. He later joined his uncles Bruno/Bonoy and Bernabe/Abe in San Carlos City, Neg. Occ in 1949. As a working student, he got his Elementary Teachers Certificate (ETC) a 2 year course, which allowed him to become a teacher. Eventually he finished his bachelor's degree in education and continued teaching before transferring to the city govt where he retired as the Admin Officer of the Sangguniang Bayan. To augment his income, he established the Aces Photo Service. He was married and widowed twice - the 1st one was to Petronila Batongmalaque Dulce, younger sister of Martha, wife of his Uncle Bernabe and they were blessed with 4 children. He had 2 more children with his 2nd marriage to Perpetua Estampador, a school teacher. His 6 children are as follows:
1. Arlena Cabales Mascuñana - born on May 11, 1953 and is the Clerk of Court of the Regional Trial Court in San Carlos City, Neg. Occ. She is married to Darius Mascuñana, a Sr Inspector of the PNP. They have 3 children as follows:

2. Alexander - born on July 18, 1954 and a colonel in the Philippine Army, graduated from the Philippine Military Academy in 1979. He was married twice - the first one was to Nelia Ojastro Fortugaleza of Bayawan, Neg. Or. and they had 3 sons. The 2nd marriage was to Rebecca Tingzon Gabuya of Motiong, Samar and they had 2 sons and 3 daughters. His 8 children are as follows:
a. Alex Nikolai F Cabales - born on May 12, 1978. a 1st Lieutenant in the Philippine Army, also a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy in 2001. Recently married, he is presently the Acting Commanding Officer of the 3rd Light Reaction Company of the Joint Special Operations Group.
b. Apple - born on Nov 7, 1981, finished AB English from the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City in 2002 and now works at a call center in Makati City.
